Tool # 5

I used Google Docs to create the GT PGP list for 2012-2013 for teachers to access.  Here is the list of the
PGP GT students for 2012-2013.

The Google Docs will be great for sharing information with the teachers; esp. lists that I have to create all year with the GT students.

Below is the Animote I created for lessons about "feelings"

Make your own slideshow at Animoto.

The Google Docs will be great for sharing information with the teachers; esp. lists that I have to create all year with the GT students.

I would use my Animoto slideshow to create my lesson set, such as how different images affect our feelings. The Animoto slides will evoke different feelings in each student.   Scenes of the beach may be soothing for some, but may cause anxiety for other students.  In a future lesson, students can create their own Animoto slideshow that will illustrate a feeling.

Tool # 4

I copied my Integrated Counseling Program for 2012-2013 and shared with 2 of my colleagues.

This will be useful to share documents with my teachers and other counselors.

I sent my Life Skill test form to fellow teachers.  This will be great for sharing information with other counselors.

This video would fit with the 2nd grade curriculum of telling time.  The video explains how early people learned  to tell time using the sun, stars and moon.  Very interesting video

This video demonstrates how to make and use a sundial to tell time.  Interesting information for students studying position of the sun in telling time. Additional information about understanding shadows and shadowing

I learned that one should use the videos for the purpose that they were created. Educators must be careful for they are role models for their students.

Dropbox will be great for storing files so that they will be secure and always available.  Can share information and files with students and with other teachers and educators.

Tool # 2

My only issue so far is just remembering how to get to my blog.  It is very helpful to have Lisa Branon here to assist.

I enjoyed reading everyone's blog and feel that I learned various ways that the FWE teachers were going to use their blogs for their classrooms.
I do not particularly enjoy sharing my thoughts with others publicly for I do not like to be judged on something I do when I do not completely understand what I am doing.  I would prefer to share my thoughts orally with my teammates, which allows for discussion.

http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/  This article was very interesting for it goes along with SBISD's 5 year plan, addressing post high school education, 4, 2, T.  A 2 or 4 yr college degree is not for everyone.  As quoted by Fred Smith, CEO of FedEX , who expresses college education is not for everyone.  People are needed in technical fields and can have a profitable and fulfilling career without ever attending college.
